HEAR US OUT
- Our last activity in Joane - Portugal hosted by AEPBS

The first activity has the aim of explaining to the world that it is possible to produce sustainable footwear made from coffeegrounds and other recycled or vegan materials, to reduce the ecological footprint. This is what an enterprise called Re- Coffee has done and it is situated in V. N. Famalicão, Portugal. This idea came about at a café, when students were having their cup of coffee and they suddenly noticed the quantity of coffee rests wasted. They immediately thought about a way of reusing these remains and that is how the idea of producing this sustainable footwear was born. The second activity is intended to show the role of CITEVE in the production of sustainable fabrics. CITEVE invests in Ecodesign
and recycling of materials. The growing consumer appetite for more environmentally responsible products with better sustainability credentials has induced in the industry a high demand for alternative materials, as well as the incorporation of sustainability criteria at the stage of design, conception, and engineering of the product.
The third activity, in the Department of Solid Waste Management, will demonstrate what the City Hall politics and strategy has been doing to Reduce, Recycle, and Reuse solid waste produced in the region. Moreover, they will show how it is being implemented in several enterprises of the area and how this practice is being disseminated among the target public.
At RESINORTE we are to begin with an Exhibition of how people plan and publicise Informing Campaigns to raise awareness and sense of responsibility for the protection of the environment. Then we will go on into a workshop in which they will show how with several different waste materials we can create new and very useful objects
